The lights at Dusk

Probably going to a party where she'll just awkwardly stand at the cheese buffet, hoping that she'll have enough meaningful conversation early-on in the evening to warrant going home with the excuse of getting up early the next morning...
I'm guessing her future husbando will be there to save her from talking to a distant relative that's quizzing her on her life goals.

"So, I hear that you just got a promotion... you're sure you want to work in retail forever?"
*Husbando has been hearing this conversation transpire for about ten minutes and abruptly joins in*
"That's what I've been asking her for the past year!" says Husbando as he pinches her nose.
"Oh! I didn't know you had a..." distant relative stammers.
"Colleague. And I have a business proposal to make for this young lady... I want to help her out of a rather obtuse situation. I ask your pardon on my stealing her for a moment..."
"No need to hide your intentions young man... I see the way you look at her lovely eyes. Such feeling in every glance, I'll be expecting an announcement soon! *wink*"
Husbando gives a very convincing laugh of sincere amusement, while the young girl smiles in confusion.
They exit the rooftop and silently ride the elevator down to the lobby.
"I'm trying out for the roll of a very dapper young man from the 1930s... if you couldn't guess..."
"I was too busy thinking how awkward our conversation at a cafe would be once you got me out of there." She admitted.
"Oh, I'm terrible at conversation. Can't think of the next topic for beans. Oh look, a bubble tea shop! let's get some!"

Or something. :P
